2021: Moving to West Africa
The plan was to move to Benin, West Africa in 2020. Covid delayed those plans. However, the ball is now rolling for our departure this summer!
Our initial assignment is to work as Guest House managers with the Non-profit SIM International. I will also work as a media coordinator for the mission. We look forward to helping with many local projects such as camps for HIV-affected children and a shelter project for HIV-affected women.
WellRigged.com has been generating the resources needed to purchase supplies like water filtration systems, medical supplies, kitchenware, kids school supplies and plenty of other rugged and reliable gear we’ll be needing(and reviewing) while on assignment.
Want to donate? That would be amazing!

Benin 2018: Camp for HIV-affected Children
I led of team of 5 to help a colleague who runs an HIV clinic in Benin do a special 5 day camp for children affected by HIV. These children are either orphaned, have HIV, or have parents with HIV.
The sad reality is that these children are often terribly ostracised with an unfair stigma. They are very often excluded from play with other children. The parents of other children are afraid that their child will contract HIV so they instruct their children not to play or interact with them.
On top of all this many of these children will not live past their teen years.
A special thanks to all my followers here at wellrigged.com. As the site grows it will play a more significant role in making a life-changing difference around the globe.
It was a privilege to work with these kids and see the joi-de-vie that they still have in spite of their difficult circumstances. The kids had the time of their lives, ate well, received on sight medical care and counsel and plenty of fun and games.
Endeavors like this are always more than worth it.
