I focus on the most durable products on earth and have compiled this list after extensive research. The companies in this list are very unique. They believe so strongly in their product that they offer guarantees that are more like insurance polices! While there are plenty of other great clothing companies out there, they all stop short of unconditional guarantees. Usually "lifetime warranties" are rife with fine print excluding wear and tear and accidental damage. While these companies are worth your business and have plenty of anecdotal accounts of top notch warrantee care, they don't come close to matching these top 5 companies. Most of their apparel is backed by a serious lifetime warranty that even covers wear & tear. Their straight foward lifetime guarantee reads as follows: "If your Lifetime Guarantee clothing item wears out due to: normal wear & tear, poor workmanship, or faulty material we'll repair or replace the item." Based out of Toronto, Canada, Tilley's main emphasis is on travel wear and sailing apparel. If you're headed to the heat of tropics Tilley is your ticket to cool and comfortable travel clothes. Their Safari shirts in particular are unmatched. Just remember to check the item description to see if it is covered under the guarantee. Each garment covered also has a "Guaranteed forever tag." 2. Lands' End- "Guaranteed. Period." credit: Land's End Similar to Eddie Bauer in many regards, Lands End has a wider range of products stretching beyond apparel to house and home. They offer a lineup closer to L.L Bean's(another stellar company that didn't quite make the cut). Their Warrantee simply reads: "The Lands’ End guarantee has always been an unconditional one. It reads: 'If you’re not satisfied with any item, simply return it to us at any time for an exchange or refund of its purchase price.” We mean every word of it. Whatever. Whenever. Always. But to make sure this is perfectly clear, we've decided to simplify it further: Guaranteed. Period.®'" 3. Bean, Eddie Bauer has built it's reputation on legendary product support and guarantees. Its been around for a long long time. According to their website , their founder Eddie, "was one of the first retailers to offer an unconditional guarantee in writing-he was that confident and committed to the quality of his products. And after 50 years in business he said, 'My greatest contribution to the consumer was our 100% unconditional lifetime guarantee. That guarantee was part of what I sold.'" Outdoor Research and Duluth's warrantee are almost identical. However, Eddie Bauer's long track record and legacy of honouring their warrantees earns it higher marks. Grunt Style I stumbled across this little gem of a company while researching another post. Grunt Style is unapologetically all-American patriot. In fact most of their employees are veterans. Grunt Style primarily market to veterans and military but they're dedicated to making durable apparel with a patriotic psazz. While they don't have as huge an array of clothing as other companies they're well on their way. Grunt Style's unconditional guarantee is humorously called the "Beer Guarantee." I reads as follows "EVERYTHING FROM GRUNT STYLE IS GUARANTEED FOR LIFE! -Yup. Everything. For any reason. Including tears, holes, loose threads, beer stains - even blood stains from defending the American Flag." Keep up the great work Grunt Style! Honorable Mentions L.L Bean: L.L. Bean once ranked in the top 5, however they have sinced canceled their unlimited return policy due excessive abuse by customers. L.L. Bean still cranks out top quality clothing and deserves honourable mention here for their outstanding reptutation and devotion to high quality buy it for life products over many years. Duluth Trading Company The Duluth Trading Company has had rave reviews from the hard core buy it for life crowd in the workwear category. If you're looking for practically indestructible work pants Duluth is it. Duluth's product range includes underwear, work wear, footwear, select tools, accessories and outerwear. I see they also have some high quality duffles and leather goods. They cary plenty of real top quality and durable products. Sadly, Duluth slipped from #3 a couple years ago after downgrading their warranty to 1 year. I assume its because their generous policy was abused similar to how L.L Beans was.
