Welcome to the most complete guide to brands with lifetime warranties. By the end of this article you will be an armchair connoisseur of endurable brands and high quality products.
Lifetime Warranties by Category
NOTE: Not all “lifetime warranties” are equal. Many are for the “lifetime of the product.” So, I’ve taken the time to sift through the fine print of each brand to rate each one out of 5 according to how comprehensive it is.
For each warranty, I’ve also included a brand description, warranty summary, and a best-seller recommendation.
[[share title=”Share this Post” facebook=”true” twitter=”true” linkedin=”true” pinterest=”true” reddit=”true”]]Wellrigged.com explores and reviews the most durable, well-made products on earth.
Kitchenware: Lifetime Warranties
Tupperware

- Warranty Rating: 5/5
- Includes: cracks, holes, chips warping & peeling
Excludes: stains, scratches, chewing and microwave damage.
Come on, you knew Tupperware would be on this list right? Their line-up of food storage containers has been an industry leader for decades.
Store your food in Tupperware and your good for a lifetime(not the food though.) Their warranty is legendary, going far beyond wear & tear to include: cracks, holes, chips, warping or peeling.
Calphalon Cookware

- Warranty Rating: 4/5
- Includes: defects, materials, workmanship, Non-stick surfaces
- Excludes: improper cleaning, neglect, accident, alteration, fire, theft, or use in a commercial establishment.
Calphalon is a reputable brand in the kitchenware market. While they offer appliances as well, only their cookware is covered by a fairly comprehensive lifetime warranty (
They even cover their non-stick products which is a common weak point in most cookware.
It should be noted that some of Calphalone’s original line of cookware is only cover by a 10 year warranty.
Le Creuset
- Warranty Rating: 4/5
- Includes: Defects, workmanship, materials
Excludes: abuse, commercial, neglect, abnormal wear or tear, overheating
Le Creuset is a heavyweight in the premium cookware market. Their generous lifetime warranty extends to utensils, wine tools, dining, and bakeware.
While their products command a premium price, they will last a lifetime as long as you don’t abuse them.
Lodge Cast Iron

- Warranty Rating: 3/5
- Includes: workmanship, materials defects
- Excludes: wear & tear, minor imperfections, non stick, enamel damage
Lodge Cast Iron is a Tennessee-based company that’s been around since 1896. Nothing lasts longer than cast iron frying pans!
The nice thing is that Lodge cast iron pans are pretty darn cheap to buy. Price check them on Amazon.
Their enamel coated pans carry a lesser limited lifetime warranty and the regular pans don’t carry a written warranty.
Even though cast iron pans last forever Lodge’s lifetime warranty is quite limited and includes a full page of fine print exceptions. There is no real need for that.
All Clad Cookware

- Warranty Rating: 3/5
- Includes: Material, construction or workmanship
- Excludes: wear& tear, commercial use, thermal shock, abuse, neglect, non-stick coatings, glass/porcelain components
There’s no question that All-Clad produces some of the best American-made cookware. Their eye-catching cookware is well made with
Peugeot Mills
- Warranty Rating: 2/5
- Includes: wooden body
- Excludes: mechanism
Peugeot Mills are world-class mills. Made in France, they are a high quality benchmark product among chefs.
However, because Peugeot only covers the wooden body of their mills for a lifetime(not the mechanism) I gave them a below-par rating.

- Includes: defects/material/workmanship for life/free sharpening
- Excludes: wear and tear / abuse
Behold the majesty of premium Japenese steel.

Wusthof produces world-class chef’s knives that will serve you well for a lifetime. Their premium Germain steel knives are top-
Chicago Cutlery
- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
- Includes: Defects/material/workmanship/
- Excludes: wear & tear/ abuse
Chicago Cutlery’s warranty is simple and straight forward. However, they coyly slipped the ambiguous term “lifetime of the product” in there to describe how long the warranty is valid. Sneaky.
However, Chicago Cutlery does offer the best price point on this list. For instance, their 7″ Fusion Santoku knife is sub $20. You can check the

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 4/5
defects, material, workmanship, “Lifesharp” free sharpening & tear-down servicing.Includes: - Excludes: Wear & tear, abuse, neglect, modifications
Benchmade is another reputable made-in-America brand making solid knives. Their lifetime warranty is decent, but it’s their Lifesharp complementary knife service that makes Benchmade a compelling buy

Includes: Unconditional Lifetime Warranty.- Excludes: nothing
Eddie Bauer is the grandaddy of Lifetime Warranties. Like, an old-school handshake, their word is their bond.
Eddie Bauer competes directly with L.L Bean, Land’s End and Orvis. Sadly L.L. Bean is no longer on this list due too many folks abusing their warranty.
Orvis

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 5/5
Includes: Unconditional Lifetime Warranty. Refund or exchange anytime.- Excludes: nothing
Orvis has a huge line of products going beyond apparel to luggage, pet supplies and fishing equipment. In fact they also offer guided trips and school outings.
Orvis’s warranty is almost identical to Land’s End. Beyond offering product exchanges, they will actually refund any item you are not satisfied with at any time. Yes, even years later.

- Includes: Material, workmanship, defects, damage, blood, holes, loose threads.
- Excludes: nothing
To say Grunt Style is a patriot brand is an understatement. Founded by veterans they offer a no-holds-barred warranty they call the Beer Warranty.
While they don’t have a huge line of apparel, you can count on replacements for even the most insane reasons. See below:
“EVERYTHING FROM GRUNT STYLE IS GUARANTEED FOR LIFE! Yup. Everything. For any reason. Including tears, holes, loose threads, beer stains – even blood stains from defending the American Flag.”-Grunt Style

Hardenco Jeans:

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 4/5
- Includes: Free Repairs for Life

- Includes: Material, workmanship, defects
- Excludes: wear & tear, damage, neglect, alterations, shipping damage
Filson certainly is a
Unfortunately, Filson’s warranty certainly isn’t as strong as it could be. It has plenty of caveats and ambiguous language like “lifetime of product” mixed in. Despite all that, they are a reliable brand and are worth taking a good hard look at.
Outdoor Clothing/Equipment: Lifetime Warranties
Cotopaxi

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 5/5
- Includes: 61 years, repairs, replacement or exchange
- Excludes: Nothing
Named after one of Ecuador’s active stratovolcanoes, Cotopaxi is a relative newcomer to the adventure gear world. It has made its mark producing pro-level gear and backpacks. 2% of all Cotopaxi’s profits go toward humanitarian projects around the world.
Cotopaxi’s warranty is very simple and generous:
“Our products are guaranteed to last 61 years—the average lifespan of a person living in the developing world. If there’s a problem with your product, we’ll gladly exchange it, get you a replacement, or repair the item in-house. In other words, it’s going to last.” -Cotopaxi
Patagonia

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 4/5
- Includes: Material, workmanship, defects, wear & tear will be repaired at very low cost
- Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear
Patagonia is an environmentalist brand and as such, they like to keep their stuff out of landfills by making durable products. Patagonia’s warranty is very similar to the North Face’s but without all the fine print.
Feral Mountain Co.

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 4/5
- Includes: Material, workmanship, defects, damage repairs at a low fee
- Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear, modifications
Feral Mountain Co. is a brick & mortar gem from Colorado with a hefty online business too. They back their gear better than the big guys on this list.
They kind of remind me of what A.G. Russel is to knife industry. Although they carry their own brand, they also carry brands like Patagonia, Cotopaxi and Mountain Hardwear while covering them with an even better warranty than the manufacturers themselves offer.
“Things get old. Things wear out. But if you’re ever dissatisfied with any aspect of your purchase for the life of that item, bring it back. No questions asked. When you chose us it was an expression of trust, and it would be awfully rude of us not to return the favor.”
Berghaus

Includes: Material, workmanship, defects, Case by case depending on product lifecycle and the care given to it.- Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect
Designed for Pro-mountaineering and trekking, Berghaus takes their gear very seriously. They certainly aren’t cheap, but you’ll be into some top-end kit.
Berghaus, handles their lifetime warranty on a case by case basis depending on the lifecycle of the item and the care it was given.
The Northface

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
Includes: Material, workmanship, defects, “lifetime of product”- Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, unapproved alterations, wear & tear
The North Face is a juggernaut in the outdoor adventure space and needs no introduction. They built their success on quality, top-tier apparel,
Canada Goose

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
- Includes: “Reasonable Lifetime of the Garment,” Material, workmanship, defects. Low-cost repair service.
- Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear
Canada Goose has become wildly successful for their crazy-warm winter jackets.
One might say they’re a bit trendy, and since they appeal to the luxury market they are quite pricey.
Still, they do offer a midrange warranty. The thing is, I’m not a fan of their purposefully vague terminology; “lifetime of the product.”
Mission Workshop

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
- Includes: Material, workmanship, defects
- Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear
Cyclists should take note of Mission Workshop. That’s their forté. From messenger bags to base layers and hoodies, they’ll have you covered head to toe with top notch stuff.
Outdoor Research

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
- Includes: Material, workmanship, defects
- Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear
Outdoor Research is into extreme adventures particularly alpine and cold weather pursuits like skiing and ice climbing. Sadly they recently downgraded their “Infinite Guarantee” which used to be a true forever promise. Now it reads more like they cut and pasted it from North Face’s
Mountain Hardwear

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
- Includes: Material, workmanship, defects, repairs at a low fee
- Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear, modifications
Google image search “Everest summit” and take note of the striking number of summit pics featuring climbers giving the thumbs up wearing Mountain Hardwear suites. Nuff said.
Arc’teryx

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
Includes: Material, workmanship, defects, forlifetime of the product. repairs at a low fee- Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear, modifications
Arc’teryx is another heavy-hitter in the outdoor sector. They also offer climbing and mountaineering gear as well as training camps at Mont Blanc.
I respect Arc’teryx for calling their warranty a “limited warranty” even though it’s identical to most of the other “lifetime warranties.”
They chose not to mislead people into thinking it was it was a full-lifetime guarantee when they meant the usable life of the product. I like they’re honesty.
Marmot

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
Includes: Material, workmanship, defects, for life time of the product. repairs at a low fee- Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear, modifications
Founded by outdoor
Marmot’s warranty is fairly standard in the industry. Still a very decent brand worth checking out.
Dakine

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 2/5
- Includes: “Lifetime of product,” select ranges of products.
- Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear
Dakine (based in Oregon) has quite a large range of sports gear and apparel but also specialize in ski and winter sports.
Their warranty is kind of “all over the place” depending on which products you buy. Some items are 2 year some are “lifetime of the product.”
Anecdotally, they have honoured their warranty even without a receipt.
Columbia

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 2/5
- Includes: “Lifetime of product,” select ranges of products.
- Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear
Yet Another big name in the outdoor pursuits industry. Colombia makes durable stuff.
I kept warm and dry in a Columbia Jacket for 11 frigid Canadian winters. It would have lasted longer if I hadn’t melted the sleeve over a campfire.
Keep in mind that Columbia only offers their limited lifetime warranty on outerwear and equipment now, not footwear or sportswear(1yr)
Tools: Lifetime Warranties
Hand Tools by Stanley, Craftsman, DeWalt & Husky.

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 5/5
- Includes: EVERYTHING including damage for the lifetime of the owner.
- Excludes: Nothing
All four of these tool brands offer multiple levels of warranties for their other tools. However, I think it is important to point out that they offer exceptional unconditional warranties on many of their hand tools.
- Craftsman: Mechanics, knives, finishing, pliers, ratchets, sockets, wrenches, hammers, demolition tools, hammers
- Husky: Plumbing tools, hammers, sockets, ratchets, wrenches, pliers
- DeWalt: Mechanics hand tools
- Stanley: Mechanics hand tools
You’ll never need to buy another tool…ever. Melt a wrench across the battery terminals?..no prob. You can get a new one with no questions asked.
Fiskars

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 4/5
Includes: Defects & workmanship for owners lifetime.- Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear, modifications
The pride of Finland, Fiskars is especially well known for their scissors and exceptional cutting tools like pole saws, pruners, axes
Fiskars covers everything they make with a proper lifetime
RIDGID

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
Includes: Material & workmanship for the “lifetime of the tool”.- Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear, modifications
I contemplated giving RIDGID tools a 2/5 for overselling their “Full Lifetime Warranty.”
Don’t get me wrong. RIDGID makes great
Adventure Tool Company(ATC)

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
- Includes: Material & workmanship for the “lifetime of the product”.
- Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear, modifications
ATC sells roll-up canvas toolkits for vehicle-based expeditions and mobile applications.
While their warranty is middle of the road they make it clear that they do not cover products that are “run over by a vehicle or bounce down the side of a mountain.”
Just make sure that doesn’t happen and you should be good. LOL. Its worth noting that they often equip their kits with DeWalt mechanics tools which do have an insane warranty.(see below)
Flashlights: Lifetime Warranties
Pelican Flashlights

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 5/5
- Includes: Material & workmanship, damage
- Excludes: batteries, bulbs
I’ll bet you didn’t’ know Pelican made flashlights! Their not the brightest but they’re darn tough! They’re prized for industrial use and by firefighters.
Pelicans warranty covers damage but not bulb or batteries.
Maglite

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 4/5
- Includes: Material & workmanship for the lifetime of the owner
- Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect,
bulbs , battery leakage
Maglite was my choice when I first went to work in Africa over a decade ago and they are still working fine. They’ve somewhat lagged behind in terms of the recent LED revolution, but they still make a solid choice (and formidable nightstick too).
Maglite is the brand that set the benchmark of quality in the flashlight industry back in the day.
Their warranty is what a true lifetime warranty should look like. O
SureFire

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 4/5
- Includes: Material & workmanship for the lifetime of the owner
- Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect
Surefire has gained a stellar reputation especially in the tactical flashlight category. They’re a particular favourite of law enforcement.
Surefire’s warranty is very similar to Maglite’s.E

They are a very reputable brand with
In
Furniture: Lifetime Warranties
Simply Amish Furniture

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 4/5
- Includes: Material & workmanship for the lifetime owner
Excludes: fabrics, finishes, lights, chair mechanism, wall-bed mechanisms…etc.
A truly custom furniture house, Simply Amish is probably one of the finest furniture makers in North America. They produce heirloom quality pieces.
Absolutely everything is hand built to last literally generations. The downside is that you’ll pay handsomely for it.
Simply Amish backs up their furniture with a proper lifetime guarantee and by the looks of their furniture, they would rarely have any warranty claims.
Joybird Furniture

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
- Includes: Material & workmanship for the lifetime of the product
Excludes: misuse, abuse, incorrect or inadequate installation, poor maintenance, cleaning or care.
Joybird builds
Definitely worth checking out.
Boltz Furniture

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
- Includes: Material & workmanship, structural integrity for the lifetime of the product
- Excludes: misuse, abuse, incorrect or inadequate installation, poor maintenance, cleaning or care.
Boltz builds seriously heavy duty modern looking furniture on steel frames. It may not be to everyone’s taste but you can’t argue that their furniture won’t last a really…really long time.
Hon Office Furniture

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 2/5
Includes: Material & workmanship for the “lifetime of the product”- Excludes: several product
catagories , misuse, abuse, faulty installs
Hon makes its office furniture in the USA. They produce clean modern office furniture with careful attention to quality.
Their “full lifetime warranty” is lackluster though because of how many products they exclude and three pages of fine print. It’s somewhat disappointing.
Outdoor/Sports Gear
Thermarest

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 4/5
- Includes: Material, workmanship
- Excludes: punctures,
dissassembly abuse, damage, neglect
Thermarest camp mattresses are class-leading products backed by a very generous warranty.
Even if you do damage your mattress They offer repairs outside of warranty for a reasonable rate.

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 4/5
- Includes: Material, workmanship
- Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, commercial use

Manduka Pro Yoga mats

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 4/5
- Includes: Material, workmanship, wear & tear

Kryptonite Locks

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 4/5
- Includes: Material, workmanship
- Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, alterations
I don’t see anybody arguing against the fact that
I think they deserve the recognition for making a great product.
Sea to Summit

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
Includes: Material, workmanship, defects, for life time of the product.- Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear, modifications
Sea to Summit is new to me, but I must have had my head in the sand to miss it. They have a huge range of solid equipment and apparel covered under their lifetime guarantee.
Their warranty is on par with the majority of the companies. They stop short of offering a “lifetime of owner” warranty.
Trek Bikes

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
- Includes: Certain frames for the lifetime of the owner
Excludes: several specific frames, misuse, abuse, incorrect or inadequate installation etc,
Trek has been a benchmark cycling brand for a long time. The American Peace Corps needed durable transportation solutions for their volunteers in Africa so they used to equip with Trek bikes.
Unfortunately Trek only offers a lifetime warranty on certain frames and obviously, they don’t cover moving parts like chains, sprockets, and derailers. For full details check out their warranty page.
Old Town Canoes

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
- Includes:
Materia , workmanship Lifetime of the Product - Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear, commercial use, mods
Old Town is a heritage canoe company hailing from the state of Maine. They’ve been building them since 1898.
Old Town could do better on their warranty terms. They do have quite a bit of fine print. Make sure you send in your warranty registration and keep your receipt.
Wilderness Systems

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
- Includes: Material, workmanship
- Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, commercial use, mods
Wilderness systems makes all kinds of Kayaks. Their warranty is similar to Old Towns. It only extends to the hull and deck excluding accessories(which have a 1year warranty).
They must have developed a serious case of writer’s cramp with all the fine print though.
Camelbak

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
Includes: Material, workmanship, for “lifetime of product”- Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear
There’s no question that Camelbak produces rugged quality. They cover their whole line of hydration solutions under their warranty: reservoirs, packs, bottles
Platypus

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
Includes: Material, workmanship, for “useful life of the product”- Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear
Platypus produces hydration and filtration solutions. They offer practically the same warranty as Camelbak, but Platypus stops short of calling it a lifetime warranty like Camelbak does.
I think Platypus deserves a place on this list anyway because they are straight forward and honest without over-hyping their warranty like CamelBak did.
SeaLine Drybags

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
Includes: Material, workmanship, for “useful life of product”- Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear

PackTowl’s warranty is almost identical to Platypus, SeaLine, and Thermarest. Spoiler alert: they’re all owned by the same parent company: Cascade Designs
Luggage & Backpacks: Lifetime Warranties
Pelican Injection Molded Cases

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 5/5
- Includes: defects, materials, workmanship, damage
- Excludes: loss or theft
Pelican cases are legendary. Although a few of their product lines aren’t covered for damage, their injection molded cases are covered and are arguably the toughest cases on earth. The armed forces use them all the time.
You should check out Pelican’s cool brag page of extreme survival stories.
Red Oxx

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 5/5
- Includes: Everything, transferable forever
- Excludes: loss or theft
Red Oxx makes the toughest duffle bags in the world. They’re backed by their “No Bull Guarantee” which is forever and is transferable forever too. I reviewed their best duffle on a recent trip to Africa and was very pleased.

- Lifetime Warranty Rating: 5/5
- Includes: Damage, breakage, no proof of purchase required
- Excludes: minor wear marks, stains, loss of contents or bag
Briggs & Riley is the king of the hill as far as luggage lifetime warranties go. Not surprisingly, they command a premium price. Briggs and
