120+ Best Brands with Lifetime Warranties: Reviewed & Rated

Welcome to the most complete guide to brands with lifetime warranties. By the end of this article you will be an armchair connoisseur of endurable brands and high quality products.

It‘s like this. If you are sick of junk that breaks and companies that don’t care if they do. It’s a good idea to stick with reputable brands that actually care enough about quality that they stand confidently behind their own products.

Lifetime Warranties by Category

NOTE: Not all “lifetime warranties” are equal. Many are for the “lifetime of the product.” So, I’ve taken the time to sift through the fine print of each brand to rate each one out of 5 according to how comprehensive it is.

For each warranty, I’ve also included a brand description, warranty summary, and a best-seller recommendation.

Kitchenware: Lifetime Warranties

Tupperware

Best Seller: Classic Bowl Set
  • Warranty Rating: 5/5
  • Includes: cracks, holes, chips warping & peeling
  • Excludes: stains, scratches, chewing and microwave damage.

Come on, you knew Tupperware would be on this list right? Their line-up of food storage containers has been an industry leader for decades.

Store your food in Tupperware and your good for a lifetime(not the food though.) Their warranty is legendary, going far beyond wear & tear to include: cracks, holes, chips, warping or peeling.

Calphalon Cookware

  • Warranty Rating: 4/5
  • Includes: defects, materials, workmanship, Non-stick surfaces
  • Excludes: improper cleaning, neglect, accident, alteration, fire, theft, or use in a commercial establishment.

Calphalon is a reputable brand in the kitchenware market. While they offer appliances as well, only their cookware is covered by a fairly comprehensive lifetime warranty (excludes abuse or neglect.)

They even cover their non-stick products which is a common weak point in most cookware.

It should be noted that some of Calphalone’s original line of cookware is only cover by a 10 year warranty.

Le Creuset

  • Warranty Rating: 4/5
  • Includes: Defects, workmanship, materials
  • Excludes: abuse, commercial, neglect, abnormal wear or tear, overheating

Le Creuset is a heavyweight in the premium cookware market. Their generous lifetime warranty extends to utensils, wine tools, dining, and bakeware.

While their products command a premium price, they will last a lifetime as long as you don’t abuse them.

Lodge Cast Iron

  • Warranty Rating: 3/5
  • Includes: workmanship, materials defects
  • Excludes: wear & tear, minor imperfections, non stick, enamel damage

Lodge Cast Iron is a Tennessee-based company that’s been around since 1896. Nothing lasts longer than cast iron frying pans!

The nice thing is that Lodge cast iron pans are pretty darn cheap to buy. Price check them on Amazon.

Their enamel coated pans carry a lesser limited lifetime warranty and the regular pans don’t carry a written warranty.

Even though cast iron pans last forever Lodge’s lifetime warranty is quite limited and includes a full page of fine print exceptions. There is no real need for that.

All Clad Cookware

Professional chef’s pan from the Copper Core collection
  • Warranty Rating: 3/5
  • Includes: Material, construction or workmanship
  • Excludes: wear& tear, commercial use, thermal shock, abuse, neglect, non-stick coatings, glass/porcelain components

There’s no question that All-Clad produces some of the best American-made cookware. Their eye-catching cookware is well made with a real attention to detail.

Peugeot Mills

  • Warranty Rating: 2/5
  • Includes: wooden body
  • Excludes: mechanism

Peugeot Mills are world-class mills. Made in France, they are a high quality benchmark product among chefs.

However, because Peugeot only covers the wooden body of their mills for a lifetime(not the mechanism) I gave them a below-par rating.

Kitchen Knives: Lifetime Warranties

Cutco

Best Seller: Cutco Paring knife
  • Warranty Rating: 5/5
  • Includes: Transferrable forever, wear & tear, materials, defects, workmanship, free sharpening
  • Excludes: Damage/Abused knives but can replace knives at a 50% discount

Cutco easily spanks the rest of the kitchen cutlery industry with the most comprehensive warranty including free sharpening(you pay shipping), multi-generational warranty, and 50% discounts to replace damaged knives.

IVO Cutlery

  • Warranty Rating: 4/5
  • Includes: the lifetime of the product, wear & tear, 50% off damage replacement
  • Excludes: abuse

Although IVO cutlery is not the most well-known brand, they do offer a very good warranty and extremely affordable prices along the lines of Chicago cutlery.

Shun Knives

Best knife: Premier Santoku
  • Warranty Rating: 4/5
  • Includes: defects/material/workmanship for life/free sharpening
  • Excludes: wear and tear / abuse

Behold the majesty of premium Japenese steel.

These knives are pieces of art that you’ll be proud to use for a lifetime. While not the most comprehensive lifetime warranty out there, they do offer a complimentary sharpening service forever.

Victorinox

Best seller: Victorinx 8″ Fibrox Chefs knife
  • Warranty Rating: 4/5
  • Includes: defects/material/workmanship for life
  • Excludes: wear and tear / abuse

Victorinox knives are disruptive to the high-end cutlery market because of the quality they deliver at far more affordable price points.

Their lifetime warranty is refreshingly to the point with no fine print.

Wusthof

Best Seller: Wusthoff Classic knife set
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
  • Includes: Defects in workmanship for life.
  • Excludes: Wear & tear, abuse, wooden handles, acts of God

Wusthof produces world-class chef’s knives that will serve you well for a lifetime. Their premium Germain steel knives are top-knotch but their written warranty is rather complicated and wordy.

Chicago Cutlery

  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
  • Includes: Defects/material/workmanship/
  • Excludes: wear & tear/ abuse

Chicago Cutlery’s warranty is simple and straight forward. However, they coyly slipped the ambiguous term “lifetime of the product” in there to describe how long the warranty is valid. Sneaky.

However, Chicago Cutlery does offer the best price point on this list. For instance, their 7″ Fusion Santoku knife is sub $20. You can check the latest pricing on Amazon.

Hunting/Fishing/Survival: Lifetime Warranties

Busse Knives

Behold Busse Knive’s Fusion Battle Mistress...for dragon slayers only
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 5/5
  • Includes: Damage, breakage, defects, materials, workmanship
  • Excludes: Aftermarket modifications

Busse knives are pure beasts. If you want the biggest and baddest you don’t need to look any further. I have never read a more insane warranty than Busse’s:

Busse Knife Group is proud to have the toughest warranty in the industry. All Busse Knife Group blades are guaranteed for life against any and all unintentional MAJOR damage. You can use a Busse Knife Group blade as hard as you like and our warranty has you covered.” -Busse

ESEE Knives

  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 5/5
  • Includes: damage, workmanship, materials, transferable, no proof of purchase necessary.
  • Excludes: wear & tear, aftermarket mods, rust

ESEE makes professional grade field knives that are very highly respected. I own and reviewed their flagship ESEE 6 which is often recommended among the top 3 by survivalist reviewers all over the internet. You really can’t go wrong with an ESEE.

Iron Will Outfitters

  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 5/5
  • Includes: breakage, accidental damage, defects, material, workmanship (proof of purchase required)
  • Excludes: Nothing

Attention Bowhunters! Iron Will Outfitter’s warranty on broad-heads is just plain awesome:

“..no limitations, no stipulations, no jumping through hoops. If your broadhead breaks for any reason, Iron Will Outfitters will replace it, free of charge.”

A.G Russell

  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 5/5
  • Includes: A.G. Russel brand & all other brands they carry, full satisfaction, parts, material workmanship
  • Excludes: purposeful abuse, second hand knives

A.G. Russel carries a huge array of high-quality knives including third-party brands and custom and knife makers. They really are the one-stop shop for almost any knife imaginable.

A.G. Russell’s warranty even covers knives that they don’t make themselves. They deserve 5/5 for covering such a huge range and offering an extremely generous lifetime warranty

Buck Knives

  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 4/5
  • Includes: defects, materials, workmanship, 50% off replacement of damaged knives, low-cost repair
  • Excludes: Wear & Tear, misuse, modifications

I have tremendous respect for Buck Knives. They operate with real integrity and produce top-tier knives.

While Buck’s warranty doesn’t cover damage or misuse, they do offer 50% off the replacement of damaged knives and a very helpful repairs department.

Kershaw

Best Seller: Kershaw Leek
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 4/5
  • Includes: defects, material, workmanship, lifetime sharpening, service, $10 replacement blades.
  • Excludes: Wear & tear, abuse, neglect, modifications

Kershaw primarily offers high-end folding knives. Their after-market service is among the best on this list. Even if you wreck your expensive blade they’ll replace it for $10! Very generous!

Benchmade

Best Seller: Griptillian 551
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 4/5
  • Includes: defects, material, workmanship, “Lifesharp” free sharpening & tear-down servicing.
  • Excludes: Wear & tear, abuse, neglect, modifications

Benchmade is another reputable made-in-America brand making solid knives. Their lifetime warranty is decent, but it’s their Lifesharp complementary knife service that makes Benchmade a compelling buy.

Leupold scopes/binoculars

  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 4/5
  • Includes: defects, material, workmanship, no proof of purchase, second-hand
  • Excludes: Wear & tear, electronic components, abuse, damage, neglect, industrial/commercial use, countries outside North America

Leupold makes serious pieces of kit for hunters. I love that they guarantee the performance of their optics forever…even if they’re second hand.

Kabar

USMC Kabar
Best Seller: USMC Kabar
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
  • Includes: defects, material, workmanship
  • Excludes: Wear & tear, abuse, neglect, modifications

Despite being a legend in the knife industry, Kabar’s lifetime warranty is like oatmeal for breakfast- nothing to write home about. Still, the USMC Kabar is one heck of a knife and no collection is complete without it.

Gerber

Bestseller: Gerber LMF 2
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
  • Includes: defects, material, workmanship
  • Excludes: Wear & tear, abuse, neglect, industrial/commercial use, countries outside North America

Gerber has some great blades and multitools especially the versatile LMF 2 Survival knife(check out the full review of it here.) Their warranty is pretty straight forward, similar to Kabar’s.

Swiss Army Knives

Best Seller: Classic SD
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
  • Includes: defects, material, workmanship
  • Excludes: Wear & tear, electronic components(2yrs), abuse, damage, neglect.

If you don’t know what a Swiss Army knife is…welcome to planet earth. These are the original multitools and worth every dime.

General Clothing Brands: Lifetime Warranties

Duluth Trading Company

  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 5/5
  • Includes: Full satisfaction no matter what forever. Refund
  • Excludes: nothing

Duluth is best known for their seriously rugged workwear. They’ve also got a pretty impressive array of other apparel covered under their insane unconditional warranty. Definitely worth checking out.

“If you’re not 100% satisfied with any item you purchase, return it to us at any time for a refund of its purchase price. Simple, unconditional, no nonsense, NO BULL.” -Duluth Trading Company

Land’s End

  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 5/5
  • Includes: Unconditional Guarantee forever. Refund or Exchange, monogramed/personalized items
  • Excludes: nothing

Land’s End has a product line that rivals L.L Bean but with a better warrantee. From dress clothes, towels or decore..take our pick. It’s unconditionally guaranteed.

Eddie Bauer

  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 5/5
  • Includes: Unconditional Lifetime Warranty.
  • Excludes: nothing

Eddie Bauer is the grandaddy of Lifetime Warranties. Like, an old-school handshake, their word is their bond.

Eddie Bauer competes directly with L.L Bean, Land’s End and Orvis. Sadly L.L. Bean is no longer on this list due too many folks abusing their warranty.

Orvis

  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 5/5
  • Includes: Unconditional Lifetime Warranty. Refund or exchange anytime.
  • Excludes: nothing

Orvis has a huge line of products going beyond apparel to luggage, pet supplies and fishing equipment. In fact they also offer guided trips and school outings.

Orvis’s warranty is almost identical to Land’s End. Beyond offering product exchanges, they will actually refund any item you are not satisfied with at any time. Yes, even years later.

Darn Tough Socks

  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 5/5
  • Includes: Full satisfaction no matter what forever.
  • Excludes: nothing

“No strings. No conditions. For life.” That’s the warranty! Not bad when you consider how comfy and durable their merino wool socks are.

At 1441 stiches/square inch these merino wool socks are super-high quality. I love mine so much I reviewed them.

Feetures Socks

Best Seller: Feetures Elite series
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 5/5
  • Includes: Unconditional Lifetime Warranty. Exchange anytime.
  • Excludes: nothing

Listen up runners and diabetics! Where Darn Tough has a broader market, Feetures has really focused their design for runners and those with therapeutic needs.

“..If our products fail to live up to your standards, you may return them at any time for a replacement – no questions asked!”Feetures

Bombas Socks

Besteller: Original Ankle
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 5/5
  • Includes: Everything, Exchange. Paid shipping on returns
  • Excludes: nothing

By now you’ve figured out that the durable merino wool sock industry is pretty cutthroat! Bombas socks adds free shipping on returns to their “Happiness guarantee” which reads in part:

“..we stand by our product 100%, no matter what, no questions asked, no holds barred, no ifs, no ands, no buts. If you have a problem, we will solve it. Refund it. Send you new socks. Whatever it takes.”

Bombas socks are a lot more affordable compared to other merino wool socks like Darn Tough.

IceBreaker Socks

Best Seller: Men’s Multisport
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 5/5
  • Includes: lifetime free replacements or refund
  • Excludes: nothing

IceBreaker makes super-high quality merino wool activewear. Merino is known for its long wearing, thermal regulation and moisture wicking properties. Unfortunately only Icebreakers socks are guaranteed for a lifetime (but their shirts are still worth considering)

Redhead Socks

  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 5/5
  • Includes: Wear & Tear, Satisfaction Guarantee. Exchange only.
  • Excludes: nothing

Redhead Socks are a Bass Pro shop house brand and are much more affordable(1/2 price) than Feetures or Darn Tough.

However, some reviewers complain of sizing and quality issues.

Their warranty reads: “These socks are backed by our Lifetime Guarantee. If ever they wear out, just return them for a FREE replacement!”

If you don’t mind replacing them more often, hold on to your receipts and bring them in to a Bass Pro Shop to get your replacements.

Grunt Style

  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 5/5
  • Includes: Material, workmanship, defects, damage, blood, holes, loose threads.
  • Excludes: nothing

To say Grunt Style is a patriot brand is an understatement. Founded by veterans they offer a no-holds-barred warranty they call the Beer Warranty.

While they don’t have a huge line of apparel, you can count on replacements for even the most insane reasons. See below:

EVERYTHING FROM GRUNT STYLE IS GUARANTEED FOR LIFE! Yup. Everything. For any reason. Including tears, holes, loose threads, beer stains – even blood stains from defending the American Flag.”-Grunt Style

Dickies

  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 4/5
  • Includes: defects, damages during shipping, Satisfaction Guarantee. Refund or exchange. Paid shipping on defective items
  • Excludes: purposeful/accidental damage or neglect

Dickies have been producing well respected and hard-wearing work clothes since 1922. Their main competitors are Duluth Trading and Carhartt. However, Dickies offers the best value for the money. Really, its hard to go wrong with any one of these three brands.

Hardenco Jeans:

Best Seller: 012 Utility Jean
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 4/5
  • Includes: Free Repairs for Life
  • Excludes: nothing

Hardenco Jeans is based in Connecticut and produces the toughest denim work clothes in North America.

They have a limited line of jeans, shirts, work jackets and aprons. Sticker shock is certainly a factor. Expect to pay over $280 for these super-rugged jeans.

Unlike other companies on this list, Hardenco promises to repair your jeans forever no matter what. Pretty sweet!

Filson

  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 2/5
  • Includes: Material, workmanship, defects
  • Excludes: wear & tear, damage, neglect, alterations, shipping damage

Filson certainly is a well respected brand that produces very durable products. I’m a particular fan of their leather goods.

Unfortunately, Filson’s warranty certainly isn’t as strong as it could be. It has plenty of caveats and ambiguous language like “lifetime of product” mixed in. Despite all that, they are a reliable brand and are worth taking a good hard look at.

Outdoor Clothing/Equipment: Lifetime Warranties

Cotopaxi

Best Seller: Fuego Down Jacket
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 5/5
  • Includes: 61 years, repairs, replacement or exchange
  • Excludes:  Nothing

Named after one of Ecuador’s active stratovolcanoes, Cotopaxi is a relative newcomer to the adventure gear world. It has made its mark producing pro-level gear and backpacks. 2% of all Cotopaxi’s profits go toward humanitarian projects around the world.

Cotopaxi’s warranty is very simple and generous:

“Our products are guaranteed to last 61 years—the average lifespan of a person living in the developing world. If there’s a problem with your product, we’ll gladly exchange it, get you a replacement, or repair the item in-house. In other words, it’s going to last.” -Cotopaxi

Patagonia

Best Seller: Responsibili-Tee
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 4/5
  • Includes: Material, workmanship, defects, wear & tear will be repaired at very low cost
  • Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear

Patagonia is an environmentalist brand and as such, they like to keep their stuff out of landfills by making durable products. Patagonia’s warranty is very similar to the North Face’s but without all the fine print.

Feral Mountain Co.

  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 4/5
  • Includes: Material, workmanship, defects, damage repairs at a low fee
  • Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear, modifications

Feral Mountain Co. is a brick & mortar gem from Colorado with a hefty online business too. They back their gear better than the big guys on this list.

They kind of remind me of what A.G. Russel is to knife industry. Although they carry their own brand, they also carry brands like Patagonia, Cotopaxi and Mountain Hardwear while covering them with an even better warranty than the manufacturers themselves offer.

“Things get old. Things wear out. But if you’re ever dissatisfied with any aspect of your purchase for the life of that item, bring it back. No questions asked. When you chose us it was an expression of trust, and it would be awfully rude of us not to return the favor.”

Berghaus

  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
  • Includes: Material, workmanship, defects, Case by case depending on product lifecycle and the care given to it.
  • Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect

Designed for Pro-mountaineering and trekking, Berghaus takes their gear very seriously. They certainly aren’t cheap, but you’ll be into some top-end kit.

Berghaus, handles their lifetime warranty on a case by case basis depending on the lifecycle of the item and the care it was given.

The Northface

Best Seller: 1990 GTX
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
  • Includes: Material, workmanship, defects, “lifetime of product”
  • Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, unapproved alterations, wear & tear

The North Face is a juggernaut in the outdoor adventure space and needs no introduction. They built their success on quality, top-tier apparel, and shoes. I would describe North Face’s warranty as fair, but not exceptional in relation to some of the others on this list.

Canada Goose

Best Seller: Carson Parka
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
  • Includes: “Reasonable Lifetime of the Garment,” Material, workmanship, defects. Low-cost repair service.
  • Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear

Canada Goose has become wildly successful for their crazy-warm winter jackets.

One might say they’re a bit trendy, and since they appeal to the luxury market they are quite pricey.

Still, they do offer a midrange warranty. The thing is, I’m not a fan of their purposefully vague terminology; “lifetime of the product.”

Mission Workshop

Best Sellert: The Monty
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
  • Includes: Material, workmanship, defects
  • Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear

Cyclists should take note of Mission Workshop. That’s their forté. From messenger bags to base layers and hoodies, they’ll have you covered head to toe with top notch stuff.

Outdoor Research

Best Seller: Seattle Sombrero
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
  • Includes: Material, workmanship, defects
  • Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear

Outdoor Research is into extreme adventures particularly alpine and cold weather pursuits like skiing and ice climbing. Sadly they recently downgraded their “Infinite Guarantee” which used to be a true forever promise. Now it reads more like they cut and pasted it from North Face’s website.

Mountain Hardwear

  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
  • Includes: Material, workmanship, defects, repairs at a low fee
  • Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear, modifications

Google image search “Everest summit” and take note of the striking number of summit pics featuring climbers giving the thumbs up wearing Mountain Hardwear suites. Nuff said.

Arc’teryx

Best Seller: Atom LT Hoody
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
  • Includes: Material, workmanship, defects, for lifetime of the product. repairs at a low fee
  • Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear, modifications

Arc’teryx is another heavy-hitter in the outdoor sector. They also offer climbing and mountaineering gear as well as training camps at Mont Blanc.

I respect Arc’teryx for calling their warranty a “limited warranty” even though it’s identical to most of the other “lifetime warranties.”

They chose not to mislead people into thinking it was it was a full-lifetime guarantee when they meant the usable life of the product. I like they’re honesty.

Marmot

  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
  • Includes: Material, workmanship, defects, for life time of the product. repairs at a low fee
  • Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear, modifications

Founded by outdoor adventureres, Marmot caters to the whole family with a kids range of outdoor apparel too. They are also big into tents and sleeping bags.

Marmot’s warranty is fairly standard in the industry. Still a very decent brand worth checking out.

Dakine

Best Seller Gore-Tex Bib 3L
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 2/5
  • Includes: “Lifetime of product,” select ranges of products.
  • Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear

Dakine (based in Oregon) has quite a large range of sports gear and apparel but also specialize in ski and winter sports.

Their warranty is kind of “all over the place” depending on which products you buy. Some items are 2 year some are “lifetime of the product.”

Anecdotally, they have honoured their warranty even without a receipt.

Columbia

  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 2/5
  • Includes: “Lifetime of product,” select ranges of products.
  • Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear

Yet Another big name in the outdoor pursuits industry. Colombia makes durable stuff.

I kept warm and dry in a Columbia Jacket for 11 frigid Canadian winters.  It would have lasted longer if I hadn’t melted the sleeve over a campfire.

Keep in mind that Columbia only offers their limited lifetime warranty on outerwear and equipment now, not footwear or sportswear(1yr)

Tools: Lifetime Warranties

Hand Tools by Stanley, Craftsman, DeWalt & Husky.

  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 5/5
  • Includes: EVERYTHING including damage for the lifetime of the owner.
  • Excludes: Nothing

All four of these tool brands offer multiple levels of warranties for their other tools. However, I think it is important to point out that they offer exceptional unconditional warranties on many of their hand tools.

  • Craftsman: Mechanics, knives, finishing, pliers, ratchets, sockets, wrenches, hammers, demolition tools, hammers
  • Husky: Plumbing tools, hammers, sockets, ratchets, wrenches, pliers
  • DeWalt: Mechanics hand tools
  • Stanley: Mechanics hand tools

You’ll never need to buy another tool…ever. Melt a wrench across the battery terminals?..no prob. You can get a new one with no questions asked.

Fiskars

  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 4/5
  • Includes: Defects & workmanship for owners lifetime.
  • Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear, modifications

The pride of Finland, Fiskars is especially well known for their scissors and exceptional cutting tools like pole saws, pruners, axes and hatchets. Speaking from experience, they make really solid tools.

Fiskars covers everything they make with a proper lifetime warranty, but don’t cover wear & tear.

RIDGID

  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
  • Includes: Material & workmanship for the “lifetime of the tool”.
  • Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear, modifications

I contemplated giving RIDGID tools a 2/5 for overselling their “Full Lifetime Warranty.”

Don’t get me wrong. RIDGID makes great powertools, but their lifetime warranty is overhyped by marketers. Guaranteeing the “lifetime of a tool” is hardly worth calling a “Full Lifetime Warranty.”

Adventure Tool Company(ATC)

Popular: Shop Roll kit
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
  • Includes: Material & workmanship for the “lifetime of the product”.
  • Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear, modifications

ATC sells roll-up canvas toolkits for vehicle-based expeditions and mobile applications.

While their warranty is middle of the road they make it clear that they do not cover products that are “run over by a vehicle or bounce down the side of a mountain.”

Just make sure that doesn’t happen and you should be good. LOL. Its worth noting that they often equip their kits with DeWalt mechanics tools which do have an insane warranty.(see below)

Flashlights: Lifetime Warranties

Pelican Flashlights

Best Seller: SabreLite
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 5/5
  • Includes: Material & workmanship, damage
  • Excludes: batteries, bulbs

I’ll bet you didn’t’ know Pelican made flashlights! Their not the brightest but they’re darn tough! They’re prized for industrial use and by firefighters.

Pelicans warranty covers damage but not bulb or batteries.

Maglite

Best Seller: 3 D-cell Maglite
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 4/5
  • Includes: Material & workmanship for the lifetime of the owner
  • Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, bulbs, battery leakage

Maglite was my choice when I first went to work in Africa over a decade ago and they are still working fine. They’ve somewhat lagged behind in terms of the recent LED revolution, but they still make a solid choice (and formidable nightstick too).

Maglite is the brand that set the benchmark of quality in the flashlight industry back in the day.

Their warranty is what a true lifetime warranty should look like. Other companies still struggle to meet Maglites standards.

SureFire

Best Seller: G2X Pro
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 4/5
  • Includes: Material & workmanship for the lifetime of the owner
  • Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect

Surefire has gained a stellar reputation especially in the tactical flashlight category. They’re a particular favourite of law enforcement.

Surefire’s warranty is very similar to Maglite’s.E

AceBeam

  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 1/5
  • Includes: Material & workmanship for 5 years after which repairs are offered at cost.
  • Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect.

AceBeam currently makes some of the brightest flashlights in the world (X70 @ 60,000 lumens)

They are a very reputable brand with high quality standards, but their “lifetime” warranty isn’t very” lifetime” at all. It needs a lot of help.

In essence you are fully covered for 60 months(5 years) and after that they will offer repairs at cost(no labor charges.)

Furniture: Lifetime Warranties

Simply Amish Furniture

  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 4/5
  • Includes: Material & workmanship for the lifetime owner
  • Excludes: fabrics, finishes, lights, chair mechanism, wall-bed mechanisms…etc.

A truly custom furniture house, Simply Amish is probably one of the finest furniture makers in North America. They produce heirloom quality pieces.

Absolutely everything is hand built to last literally generations. The downside is that you’ll pay handsomely for it.

Simply Amish backs up their furniture with a proper lifetime guarantee and by the looks of their furniture, they would rarely have any warranty claims.

Joybird Furniture

Best Seller: Hughes Grand Sofa
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
  • Includes: Material & workmanship for the lifetime of the product
  • Excludes: misuse, abuse, incorrect or inadequate installation, poor maintenance, cleaning or care.

Joybird builds high quality furniture to order from their workshop in Tijuana, Mexico. They have a huge range of furniture manufactured under one roof.

Definitely worth checking out.

Boltz Furniture

Best Seller: 3 Piece Office set
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
  • Includes: Material & workmanship, structural integrity for the lifetime of the product
  • Excludes: misuse, abuse, incorrect or inadequate installation, poor maintenance, cleaning or care.

Boltz builds seriously heavy duty modern looking furniture on steel frames. It may not be to everyone’s taste but you can’t argue that their furniture won’t last a really…really long time.

Hon Office Furniture

Best Seller: L-Work Station
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 2/5
  • Includes: Material & workmanship for the “lifetime of the product”
  • Excludes: several product catagories, misuse, abuse, faulty installs

Hon makes its office furniture in the USA. They produce clean modern office furniture with careful attention to quality.

Their “full lifetime warranty” is lackluster though because of how many products they exclude and three pages of fine print. It’s somewhat disappointing.

Outdoor/Sports Gear

Thermarest

  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 4/5
  • Includes: Material, workmanship
  • Excludes: punctures, dissassembly abuse, damage, neglect

Thermarest camp mattresses are class-leading products backed by a very generous warranty.

Even if you do damage your mattress They offer repairs outside of warranty for a reasonable rate.

Pelican Sports-Paddle Boards & Kayaks

Best Seller: Flow 94 paddle board
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 4/5
  • Includes: Material, workmanship
  • Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, commercial use

Pelican is a titan brand known for their practically indistructible Pelican polymer cases which have survived IED’s and months floating at sea. They also make kayaks and paddleboards.

Pelican sports offers a pretty decent lifetime warranty on their paddle boards and Kayaks. They’d be my first choice for a kayak.

Manduka Pro Yoga mats

Best Seller: Pro Yoga/Pilates mat
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 4/5
  • Includes: Material, workmanship, wear & tear
  • Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, alterations

While Manduka doesn’t cover their whole line of Yoga mats with a lifetime warranty, the Black Mat PRO, Manduka PRO and PROlite mats are even covered for wear and tear for life! Cool.

Kryptonite Locks

Best Seller: New U New York
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 4/5
  • Includes: Material, workmanship
  • Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, alterations

I don’t see anybody arguing against the fact that Kryponite bike locks are the best. Bike thieves just walk away. You’ll find Kryptonite locks listed on every other lifetime warranty list too.

I think they deserve the recognition for making a great product.

Sea to Summit

  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
  • Includes: Material, workmanship, defects, for life time of the product.
  • Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear, modifications

Sea to Summit is new to me, but I must have had my head in the sand to miss it. They have a huge range of solid equipment and apparel covered under their lifetime guarantee.

Their warranty is on par with the majority of the companies. They stop short of offering a “lifetime of owner” warranty.

Trek Bikes

  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
  • Includes: Certain frames for the lifetime of the owner
  • Excludes: several specific frames, misuse, abuse, incorrect or inadequate installation etc,

Trek has been a benchmark cycling brand for a long time. The American Peace Corps needed durable transportation solutions for their volunteers in Africa so they used to equip with Trek bikes.

Unfortunately Trek only offers a lifetime warranty on certain frames and obviously, they don’t cover moving parts like chains, sprockets, and derailers. For full details check out their warranty page.

Old Town Canoes

Best Seller: Discovery 133
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
  • Includes: Materia, workmanship Lifetime of the Product
  • Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear, commercial use, mods

Old Town is a heritage canoe company hailing from the state of Maine. They’ve been building them since 1898.

Old Town could do better on their warranty terms. They do have quite a bit of fine print. Make sure you send in your warranty registration and keep your receipt.

Wilderness Systems

Best Seller: Tarpon 120
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
  • Includes: Material, workmanship
  • Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, commercial use, mods

Wilderness systems makes all kinds of Kayaks. Their warranty is similar to Old Towns. It only extends to the hull and deck excluding accessories(which have a 1year warranty).

They must have developed a serious case of writer’s cramp with all the fine print though.

Camelbak

Best Seller: CamelBak Rogue
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
  • Includes: Material, workmanship, for “lifetime of product”
  • Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear

There’s no question that Camelbak produces rugged quality. They cover their whole line of hydration solutions under their warranty: reservoirs, packs, bottles and accessories.

Unfortunately I dinged them a point for using the “lifetime of the product” malarky in their written warranty

Platypus

Best Seller: GravityWorks 2.0 L kit
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
  • Includes: Material, workmanship, for “useful life of the product”
  • Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear

Platypus produces hydration and filtration solutions. They offer practically the same warranty as Camelbak, but Platypus stops short of calling it a lifetime warranty like Camelbak does.

I think Platypus deserves a place on this list anyway because they are straight forward and honest without over-hyping their warranty like CamelBak did.

SeaLine Drybags

Best Sellers: Baja series drybags
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
  • Includes: Material, workmanship, for “useful life of product”
  • Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear

SeaLine produces water-proof backpacks and drybags. Your electronics will be safe through drenching downpours and the high-seas. You can expect long years of dependable service with there range of products.

PackTowl

Best Seller: Pack Towl Personal Series
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
  • Includes: Material, workmanship, for “useful life of product”
  • Excludes: abuse, damage, neglect, wear & tear

PackTowls are microfibre towels designed for outdoor adventurers. They are very absorbent, fast drying, odor resistant and light. I think we an all appreciate those properties after a long hike.

PackTowl’s warranty is almost identical to Platypus, SeaLine, and Thermarest. Spoiler alert: they’re all owned by the same parent company: Cascade Designs

Luggage & Backpacks: Lifetime Warranties

They make the kind of luggage that will pay for itself if you circle the earth a few times a year.

GoRuck

Best Seller: GoRuck GR2
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 5/5
  • Includes: Everything, no receipt necessary
  • Excludes:  Nothing

I consider GoRuck to be the toughest backpack maker on this list. All of their bags are over-engineered far beyond the reasonable expectations you’d have in a quality bag.

Check out their warranty-no fine print either!

All GORUCK built gear, apparel, and footwear — everything we manufacture — comes with our Scars Lifetime Guarantee. If there is a defect in workmanship or materials or if you actually manage to wear our stuff out, GORUCK will fix or replace (at our discretion) your item, free of charge. Osprey

Best Seller: Farpoint 55
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 5/5
  • Includes: Everything
  • Excludes:  Nothing

Of all the industries the luggage industry has the best warranties and Osprey doesn’t disappoint. Their warranty tagline is, “Any Reason, Any Product, Any Era”

Osprey’s forté is backpacks and they’ve built a cult following of happy customers. Similar to Cotopaxi, they have a more sleek, modern design style going on.

Jansport

Best Seller: SuperBreak
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 5/5
  • Includes: Everything
  • Excludes:  Nothing

This list wouldn’t be complete without Jansport! In fact, Jansport was key in setting the bar so high in the backpack industry back in the day.

They’re still backing their bags with a true lifetime warranty without any fineprint.

Timbuk2

Best Seller: Classic Messenger
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 4/5
  • Includes: Materials, workmanship, defects
  • Excludes:  wear & tear, damage, abuse

Timbuk2 makes a lot of bags, but their best stuff are their messenger bags. I’ve owned and abused mine for years. It doesn’t even have a loose thread!

Check out my comparison of Timbuk2’s Best Messenger Bags.

Timbuk2 offers a true lifetime warranty but for such a tough brand they could have spared the full page of fine print.

Chrome Industries

Best Seller: Kadet Messenger
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 4/5
  • Includes: Materials, workmanship, defects
  • Excludes:  wear & tear, damage, abuse, modifications

Everything Chrome Industries makes is for cyclists, but only their bags carry a full lifetime warranty. So, if you’re in the market for a messenger bag Timbuk2 and Chrome Industries are top choices.

Targus Laptop Bags

  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 4/5
  • Includes: materials , workmanship, defects
  • Excludes:  loss or theft, wear & tear, damage

Targus may not be a prestigious brand but they stand behind their bags with a darn good warranty. They offer great value in a laptop bag.C

OnSight Equipment

  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
  • Includes: materials , workmanship, defects,(lifetime of product)
  • Excludes:   wear & tear, damage, abuse

Onsight Equipment is a Canadian-based brand that produces backpacks and accessories for outdoor enthusiasts (particularly cyclists.)

Their warranty is nice and simple, but it isn’t for the lifetime of the owner like most in this category.

  • Includes: materials , workmanship, defects(lifetime of product)
  • Excludes:   wear & tear, damage, abuse

Based in Minnesota, Granite Gear has significant experience supplying the military and outfitting expeditions with rugged backpacks and gear. Their main focus is outdoor pursuits.

I think Granite Gear could offer a tougher warranty. Their gear is of the same caliber as others in this category that rank 5/5.

Away

  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 1/5
  • Includes: Materials, workmanship, defects
  • Excludes:  wear & tear, damage, abuse, modifications etc

I don’t know much about Away Travel, but a number of folks online have spoken about their good quality. However, they only cover a very limited range of polycarbonate and aluminum luggage.

I gave Away a 1/5 for the most insane amount of small print I’ve ever read in a warranty (5135 words!). That’s about the same amount of words you’ve read to get to this part of the article.(see it for yourself)

Leather: Lifetime Warranties

Marlando Leather

  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 5/5
  • Includes: Materials, workmanship, defects, wear & tear, repairs, forever

Marlando leather produces very nice pieces made in China from Full Grain USA sourced leather.

Their quality looks quite good and is a lot more affordable than comparable USA made leather goods. They’ve got a pretty extensive Amazon storefront wher eyou can get and idea of the price discounts.

I think they’d be very hard to beat considering the grade of leather they are using.

Saddleback Leather is one of my favorite leathermakers. (disclosure) Yes, I am an affiliate and I would only be one if were really impressed with their stuff. Check them out for yourself if you think I’m BSing you.

Their motto is my favorite: “They’ll fight over it when your dead”

Everything comes with a 100 year warranty. The only way you could get better quality is by hiring a top-notch custom leathermaker.

Their products carry a timeless class that will only get better with time as they develop a rich patina- something that’s unique only to true full-grain leathers.

Tanner Goods

  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 1/5
  • Includes: Materials, workmanship, defects, a lifetime of the product(4-8yrs)
  • Excludes:   Wear & tear, damage, abuse, modification

Tanner Goods has a limited range of leather wallets and belts. They’ve got a decent reputation. However, their “limited lifetime warranty” is more than limited…it’s stunted.

“The Limited Lifetime Warranty is applicable to the lifetime of our bags for up to 4 years and leather goods for up to 8 years

That’s too bad for a company that actually makes some really decent stuff.

Stanley’s warranty is simple. They stand behind their flasks for a lifetime. No fine print. The only exclusions are secondary components, accidental damage and modifications.

Tervis

  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 2/5
  • Includes: Materials workmanship, defects on plastic tumblers
  • Excludes:   stainless steel tumblers, damage, wear & tear, special editions.

Tervis enjoys respect in the drinkware industry particularly among collectors. They are the king of collectible branded tumblers. DC Comics, Sports Teams, movies, funny sayings..you name it.

However, Tervis’ lifetime warranty isn’t really as great as some make it out to be.

Only their double-layered plastic tumblers are covered with a lifetime warranty. Surprisingly, their stainless steel ones only have a five-year guarantee for their thermal insulation properties…hmm.

Nalgene?

Best Seller: Nalgene Widemouth

I had to include Nalgene even though they actually don’t appear to have a published warranty of any kind…at least not that I could find.

However, there is overwhelming anecdotal evidence to support the an unspoken Nalgene lifetime warranty offered on a case by case basis that even includes unintentional breakage.

It’s very safe to say you are in good hands with Nalgene.

Home: Lifetime Warranties

Delta Faucets & Toilets

They do reserve the right to limit replacements if it’s apparent that your pet happens to be a freaking monster that eats leashes for breakfast every morning.

There are annoying people out there that abuse warranties like this, so to them I say….”DON’T RUIN IT FOR EVERYONE!”

Hammacher Schlemmer offers a huge array of gadgets, home accessories and decor. A lot of it is pretty cool eye-candy so be warned if you sign up for their catalogues…you’ll wallet will get lighter.

Hammacher Schlemmer has a famously simple lifetime guarantee. However, the caveat is that it is for the normal life of the products not the owners lifetime. I can’t say I blame them considering the huge variety of products they offer.

  • Includes: workmanship, defects, cracking, breaking for the lifetime of vehicle it is installed in
  • Excludes:   liners that have been removed from original vehicle

Husky makes model specific custom fitted heavy duty floor liners for cars trucks and SUV.

Bonus: They’ve got a full Amazon storefront which is great for prime members.

Weathertech Liners

WeatherTech Digital Fit series
  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 4/5
  • Includes: workmanship, defects, material for the lifetime of vehicle it was originally installed in.
  • Excludes:   chemical spills, extreme abrasive conditions, unauthorized resellers(like Amazon)

WeatherTech and Husky Liners are head to head competitors. Husky overs a slightly better warranty with less fine print.

Shinola Watches

  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5

  • Excludes:  Damage, abuse, water damage, straps, batteries wear & tear

Shinola is an American watch & leather maker based in Detroit. They also have their hands inro making classic style bikes and even own a hotel.

Shinola is playing a great roll in revitalizing Detroit by creating jobs.

Shinolas watches are hand made with Swiss parts. You can expect to pay $800 or more for their watches. While the internal mechanisms of the watches are covered, they included a cryptic statement: “for the lifetime of the watch” to describe how long the warranty is good for.

Still, there are very few watchmakers who offer warranties like this at all.

Ingersoll Watches

  • Lifetime Warranty Rating: 3/5
  • Includes: workmanship, defects, “lifetime of watch”
  • Excludes:  Damage, abuse, water damage, straps, batteries, wear & tear, watches manufactured before 2016

Ingersoll has a rich history stretching back to 1892. Based in New York the brand is one of the oldest watchmakers in the US.
